Materials are created from the Materials page (accessible from the "Resource" menu on the left side of the page).

Adding materials to protocols

1. If the materials do not yet exist in MolMeth's database go to the materials page and create them. See above.

2. Go to the protocol's materials section and click the "add" link.

3. Type the name of the material you wish to add and select it from the list.

4. Enter a note for the material (optional) and click the "add" button.

Organising a protocol's materials

If you want to change the order in which the materials appear or arrange the materials into groups go to the material section and click the "edit" link.

To change the order click the up and down arrows next the materials. The order is saved automatically, you do not have to confirm by clicking any button.

To group materials together add a new material but change the entry type to separator. Type the name of the group and click the "add" button. Place all the group's materials under the separator using the arrow links.

Technical note:
As you might have noticed a separator is merely a protocol material that has no reference to any material. A rather crude implementation but which is easy to use.
