Introduction

Protocol Structure

A protocol at MolMeth consists of a number of resources linked together rather than a flat file with all information. Instead of writing protocols from scratch every time a new protocol is created by combining existing and new parts. This brings both consistency and saves time when making changes to a resource as all protocols incorporating it automatically gets the update.

If your protocol can be broken down into fairly independent pieces that could be useful in other protocols we urge you to define them as their own protocols before combing them into a whole. If you find yourself writing the same step twice you should definately define it by itself.

Other resources such as materials, people or references must always be defined as their own objects before they can be used in a protocol. However, before creating them make sure to look if nobody else has already done it. There's no need to invent the wheel a second time.

Moving around the site

Your current location on the site is always displayed at the top of the page as breadcrumbs (the breadcumbs for this page are shown below as an example). You can jump directly to any of the pages by clicking it.

You can edit the contents of a page by using the menus in the headers, if your permissions allow it. Try clicking the example above.

Text Formatting

Throughout the site MolMeth uses a markup-language called Markdown to display page contents which provides an easy way to create common text elements and styles. Read the Markdown help for more information.
